Creative Kids Voucher: As Mr Avila is registered as a Creative Kids Provider so students can use vouchers for violin lessons.

Group Lessons and Ensembles operate on an 8 week term.

Unless otherwise indicated, lessons and rehearsals will begin in Week 1 of Term 2. If a lesson / rehearsal is cancelled or cannot be held due to a public holiday or other reason, that lesson will take place (where possible) in Week 9 and / or 10. Note that no make-up lessons or refunds are possible for Group Lessons or Ensembles if a student misses a lesson / rehearsal.

Fees for Group Lessons should be paid directly to tutors who will invoice for them, not to the school.

Students should have a copy of Essential Elements Violin Book 1 (available online or from Hurstville Music on the Move).

Suitability for ensemble membership is determined by the Strings Director.
Violin Group Lessons
Group Lessons are for beginning violin students with no prior experience and allow each student to learn the basics of the violin and share the lesson costs with others.
The lessons run weekly during the term for the duration of one year. It is important that students commit to a year in Group Lessons in order for the program to remain viable and allow students to
The Group Lesson is a one year program designed to introduce students to the basics of violin playing. It is expected that students will remain in the group for its full duration, to ensure that it remains viable.
Students wanting to develop their skill beyond this level should take on individual lessons when they have completed the Group Lesson program.
The skills learned in the violin Group Lesson readily transfer to other string instruments such as the Viola.

Training Strings
Training Strings caters for students who have mastered the basics and are ready to start developing ensemble skills.
Prerequisites:

Should be receiving weekly private tuition.

Assessed by the Strings Director as sufficiently proficient.
Open to: Students K-6.

Tuition Fees: $160 per term (8 lessons)
Intermediate Strings
Intermediate Strings builds on the ensemble skills developed in Training Strings. It runs for the first half of the year only. Students in the Intermediate Ensemble will join with Concert Strings after the Winter Concert and Festival of Instrumental Music.

Concert Strings
Concert Strings is for students who are advanced enough to master the repertoire for the Festival of Instrumental Music (FOIM).

Cello Group Lessons & Other Cello Lessons
Cello Group and Private Lessons are possible through Mina Scarratt.
